Structural Reflexology,

Therapeutic Massage

In 2006 I graduated from Bridgewater State College in Massachusetts with a B.S. in Exercise Science/Health and Wellness. My journey since graduating eleven years ago has been very exciting to say the least. I have always loved health and wellness as far back as I can remember. It is truly a passion of mine to help everyone I possibly can. There’s no better feeling than knowing you’ve helped someone, and I suppose that is why I do what I do. To make people feel better.

During those eleven years I took various jobs that helped develop my leadership and management skills, but I never lost sight of my passion for health. For a time, I worked in a gym equipment store helping people buy the right equipment for their health and exercise needs. I also spent a significant amount of time in the footwear industry, which has led me to my current studies in Reflexology. I believe that if the core issue that is plaguing a person is found then we can discover a holistic way of treating it.

In May of 2016 I graduated from the Green Mountain School of Massage, and who would have thought that a little over a year later I would have already started my own massage therapy business! This journey has been an extremely rewarding experience; there have been so many people who have inspired me along the way, and have pushed me to go further than I ever expected. At the end of 2016 I founded Mountain Valley Lotus because I believe massage is an integral part of living a pain free and injury free life. Among the services I provide include, relaxation massage, Thai yoga massage, deep tissue massage, and Reflexology, with more still to come!

Outside of massage, I love to run. I’ve been a marathon runner for a few years now. I’ve ran several marathons, including, most recently, the Providence Marathon. Before I ran marathons, I used to run cross country in high school and college, and running has always been a huge part of my life. It is like a meditation for me, and it pushes me to keep reaching for the next goal. I also love the outdoors, and you can frequently find me on hiking trails enjoying the fresh New England air. I also love to craft and make and fix jewelry.

I hope you take a look around our website, and pay us a visit. I love to meet new people, and help them as best I can. If I can help even just one person feel great and pain free then everything was worth it!

Forrest Cummings, LMT

Shiatsu Massage

Therapeutic Massage

Forrest’s journey in massage and body work began with a love of animals and an interest in anatomy. During his first year of school, majoring in animal science, he took an internship in Upstate New York teaching kids about native wildlife. While living in New York, he toured the Finger Lakes School of Massage in Ithaca and had a feeling that that was what he was meant to do.

School was a life changing experience for him. He left what he had known of the education system and found a place where education was supported by loving kindness. Forrest found something in school that he needed to share. He found a feeling of connection and caring love with people he had never met and would never see again. The ability to connect with complete strangers on such an intimate level, and feel the immediate changes in their body from massage, is what he loves about what he does.

Since school, he has done some work traveling to people’s homes and working in a spa. He has felt the muscles and fascia from people of all walks of life. He loves doing light and slow massage, offering gentle support and warmth to each muscle allowing it to soften. His touch comes from a background heavy with Shiatsu and Eastern Medicine. He blends trigger point work with connective tissue therapy to release muscles with as little pressure as is productive. The techniques he uses, such as rocking or Kinesthetic Awareness through Movement, targets the central nervous system and calms the whole body.

Massage provides health and relaxation to the person receiving the massage as well as the person giving it. Forrest looks forward to learning from every massage he gives.

When he’s not practicing massage he enjoys hiking with his dogs and restoring his house.

Brad Battin

Director of Business Development

While not my full time job, I am extremely grateful for the opportunity to partner, alongside my wife Victoria, on this business venture of hers. I am a graduate of Michigan State University and have over 15 years of business management experience. To give Victoria more flexibility to focus on her craft, I manage several aspects of her business including the development and execution of both our short and long term business plans, website management, graphic design and other business-related needs. I am passionate about business, but the main driving force behind my commitment to this venture is that I truly BELIEVE in the quality and effectiveness of Victoria's work. I have experienced the benefits of her services first-hand and I've seen many positive results from her clients. She has a true talent and I'm just happy to be a part of it!

When not working, I'm usually with Victoria training for our next marathon and enjoying life. If you find any issues with our website or would just like to chat, please contact me.
